rocks that can accumulate in homes and is the second leading cause of lung
cancer).
· Asbestos (used in building insulation,
roofing paper, floor tiles).
· Formaldehyde (found in some household
products, glue, building materials and cigarette smoke).
· Benzene (used in chemical
manufacturing, found in gasoline vapors and tobacco smoke).
· Hexavalent chromium (used in paints,
pigments and chrome plating).
· Cadmium (batteries, yellow pigments,
metal painting and coating).
· Nickel (battery, ceramics).
· Vinyl chloride (used to produce polyvinyl
chloride/PVC plastic).
· Ethylene oxide (sterilant for
hospital equipments).
· Lead and its compounds (battery).
· Aflatoxins (toxins from mold on
grains/nuts).
· Certain virus and bacteria (Human
Papillomavirus, Hepatitis B and C Viruses, Epstein-Barr Virus, Helicobacter
pylori).
· X-ray and gamma ray from medical
imaging and therapy.
· Persistently elevated blood level of
estrogen is associated with breast cancer.
