Consider following issues:
· Intake balanced diet.
· Start taking folic acid supplement
(at least 3 months before) to prevent neural tube defects.
· Engage in regular, moderate physical
activity.
· Maintain optimal body weight.
· Sound sleep for 7 to 9 hours.
· Limit processed food and caffeine
intake (under 200mg/day).
· Manage conditions like diabetes,
hypertension, thyroid function, blood pressure and mind setup.
· Take care about genetic disorders and
previous pregnancy complications if any.
· Screening for sexually transmitted
diseases like AIDS, syphilis, gonorrhea, hepatitis B and C.
· Ensure immunity to infections like
rubella.
· Avoid plastic container and harmful chemical
exposure at home and work.
· Quit smoking, alcohol, drugs etc.
· Preconception care is also important
for men, as sperm development takes about three months.
